The Orbiting Rocket Challenge! [alka seltzer]
The Task:
Calculate the amount of payload and fuseloge needed to acheive orbit [not too far, not too shallow] and return to "Earth." This challenge will require many trials and "re-dos."
Materials:
film canisters
manila folders/ditto paper
tape
alka-seltzer tablets
measurement tape
To Achieve Success:
Your goal is to reach a height of between 10-12 feet (no more or less).
Grading:
A= reach target within 5 attempts
B= reach target within 5-10 attempts or some assistance within 5 attempts
C=reach target after more than 10 attempts or some assistance within 10 attempts
D=reach target after more than 10 attempts and with assistance
F=failure to complete or reach desired target
