The team did an excellent job on Saturday, January 27 hosting the 2007 Eastern Division Wrestling Tournament. Our team placed 2nd (Eastern Division Runners Up)... Special congrats to those qualifying for the City Championship on Saturday, February 3. They are: James F., Matt T., Michael H., Caleb H., Sebastian S., & Andrew R. Mr. P thanks all the parents and teachers who volunteered to help prepare and run the tournament!

The team did an excellent job on Thursday, January 18 at the home match against East Literature. Meigs won 42-38 in another very hard fought win! Special congrats to those (Michael H., Alex W.) making PINS! Other wrestlers scoring points were: Matt T., Max R., Caleb H., Alex W., Caleb H., and Lars T. Mr. P sends a special word of congrats to Sebastian S. on one of the best matches in recent memory!

The team did an excellent job on Wednesday, January 17 at the away match against Dupont Tyler. Meigs won 66-15 in another hard fought win! Special congrats to those (Michael H., Adam K., Alex W.) making PINS! Other wrestlers scoring points were: James F., Matt T., Michael H., Garret H., Caleb H., Nathan T., Sebastian S., Andrew R., Caleb H., and Michael B.

The team did an excellent job on Monday, December 18 at the home match against Two Rivers. Meigs won 44-31 in another hard fought win! The Tennessean was present taking photos! Other wrestlers scoring points were: James F., Matt T., Michael H., Noah M., Caleb H., and Michael B.

The team did an excellent job on Wednesday, December 13 at the match against Gra-Mar. Our 40-27 win was a hard fought one! Special congrats to Nathan T. on a hard fought victory and to the wrestlers (James F., Justin S., Alex W.) making PINS! Other wrestlers scoring points were: Matt T., Caleb H., Sebastian S., and Michael B.

ALERT: Meigs Wrestling will resume practice on Monday, January 8, 2007. Don't forget to exercise and watch what you eat over the holidays! Our next match is on Wednesday, January 10 vs. Ewing Park.

ALERT: Meigs Wrestling began on Wednesday, November 8. Practice times are Mon-Thu from 2:45PM-4:45PM. All wrestlers MUST have all forms turned in to Mrs. Parsons in Room 129 before practicing. All wrestlers MUST be at all practices unless permitted to be absent by Coach Parsons or Mrs. Parsons. Parents need to be at MMS at 4:45PM for pick up in the car lane by the cafeteria (not the gym).
We will focus the week of Nov. 13 on basic moves and conditioning. Wrestlers will need to begin keeping a health log detailing food intake, exercising, etc. Forms and money are due this week for warm-ups. The wrestling team is also working the first concession stand for the November 21 basketball game.

2006-2007 Captains Announced:
Coach Parsons has selected three wrestlers to serve as captains this season. The captains are: Michael Hanna, Sebastain Sakarapanee, & Max Rollins. These three wrestlers will serve many roles this year for the wrestling team! Congratulations to each of these super kids!

2006 Wresling Tournament Held:
The city tournament will be the following Saturday (February 4) at Gra-Mar Middle. The times are the same as the Eastern Division Tournament. To see the brackets, team line-up, and later results for the city tournament held on February 4 at Gra-Mar, go to: www.fiscusconsulting.com/matcontrol.html

The team did an excellent job on Wednesday at the match against Joelton. Our 57-18 win makes us undefeated for the 2005-2006 regular season. Special congrats go to Andrew R. and Noah M. on their PINS!
Congrats on doing a great job Tuesday at the match against East. Our 57-18 win there was great, too. Much improvement has been noticed on our team in January.
Remember to work on staying in the best shape possible. Stay lean and mean and ready to wrestle!
