December 2009

Read a Mystery: Design the Game!

December Task: Make a game involving the book. The game may be a board game or other kind of game. Use the game to possibly "reveal" the ending (or not.)

Task Due: 12.17.09

Task: Create a board game. The game must include spaces on which players will move. The game should be themed around the book, but not dependent upon having read the book prior to playing the game. The ultimate goal is to create a game that not only spotlights the book, but creates interest and excitment about the book- a commercial for the game! This is to be created in December after the book report.

Expectations!

Language Arts Math
1. Create directions, an overview of the rules, and the object by which winning the game is acheived. 1. Use a method of probability to determine whose "turn" it is at the beginning.
2. No mispelled words or gramatical mistakes should be present. 2. Use integers (+/-) to show "moving forward" or "moving backwards."
3. Use skills to effectively make the layout of the game board and its design. 3. Have some representation of decimals/fractions/percents in the game.
4. Be creative! 4. Use some operational computation and problem solving in the game.
