Field Day
Field Day is tomorrow, Wednesday, May 18. Our class, of course, is representing
the country of Ecuador. Students
received their iron-on decal Monday.
Follow the directions posted on our class field day webpage. Thanks to those who have sent in $2 to
cover the cost of the iron-on creation. Also on the webpage is a list of
tomorrowÕs races and the kickball tournament.
Rocket Day
Rocket Day is Friday, May 20. Students have started their rockets and will finish them on
Thursday. Students are to study
the rocketry link on pour class Rocket Day webpage. http://www.flyparsons.org/rocketday.html
Astronomy Lessons
Just like last year, Dr. Erika is planning a star party at
the top of the parking garage at Vanderbilt University. The re-scheduled date, at this point,
is Saturday, May 21. If that date
turns out to be cloudy, the following Monday, May 23 will be the next
re-scheduled date. We will begin
about 7:45PM. Information
regarding re-scheduling will be posted on the scrolling message bar at the top
of www.flyparsons.com. The reschedule dates are: May 23, May
24, May 25, May 26, or May 27. An
Evrits e-mail will be sent once with the date the star party is determined.
Stock Market Fee
After a fun year using the Stock Market Game, itÕs time to
pay the invoice for the program we used. A fee is due for each team of students
who participated. In order to pay
the invoice to MTSU who provides the Stock Market Game, each student is being
requested to bring $6. Make checks
payable to Meigs Magnet School. If
you are able to assist in paying for another student, that would also be
appreciated.
No Tuesday Folder May 17
Most papers were returned to students this past week at the
time of grading them, therefore no Tuesday Folder was sent May 17. The Note Home is also being provided
on-line only this week.
After- School BRI Testing
Just like last year, students must be tested for their
reading levels (BRI). To do this,
Mr. P is testing as many students as possible after school beginning Wednesday,
May 18. Students who normally stay
after school will be tested on his/her normal after-school day. Otherwise, Mr. P is requesting that
arrangements be made for each student to stay one afternoon between now and May
24. Doing this will allow the
class to proceed without having to assign seatwork while testing is done during
the day.
