What is Words and Music?
The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum provides a program for elementary and middle school students which offers a two-part songwriting workshop. During sessions at school, students will hear songs, review lyrics and learn how lyrics are written. Participants will have fun learning the structure of a song and then write their own song lyrics. During the field trip session at the museum, participants will enjoy a live performance of some of their songs given
by a professional songwriter who will have added melody to their lyric. The songwriter will also discuss the craft of songwriting and answer questions. No lyric writing or musical experience is necessary to participate.
